This notion is put to the test one evening after a concert Lewis and his ban performs in. A strange person stared at him ominously during his performance, disturbing him a great deal. After the concert, while Jen tries to understand what is wrong, the stranger transforms into a demonic being who attacks them both. In the aftermath, Lewis is grabbed and Jen is wounded and near death.
While she lies in the hospital, comatose, she is visited by a diminutive gargoyle named Scree. Scree takes her into Nexus, a land between the physical world and the spiritual worlds, collectively called Oblivion. He explains that Chaos and Order have been struggling against one another in Oblivion for aeons, and that the scales have been tipped in favor of the former. He also informs her that she was attacked by a minion of Chaos and that she has been chosen as the champion of Order, tasked with the burden of reestablishing the balance between Order and Chaos to prevent all the worlds, including the physical, from being torn apart. To aid her on her quest, she is equipped with magical vambrace that serve a purpose she isn't made aware of until later.
She hopes that, during her journey, she'll be able to find and be reunited with Lewis again and that she'll be able to understand why both of them had to be drawn into this conflict.
Pros: Jen is one of the most well written developed in the action genre, if not the gaming industry. You don't have trouble believing for one moment that she is the girlfriend of a punk rocker who has been sucked into this incredibly abnormal situation. She is also not a set of boobs attached to arms and legs.
Cons: Sometimes her little jokes or quips can be mildly annoying, especially when inserted in situations that might not warrant them.
