The Look (6/10): Taki has always worn tight fitting of sometimes revealing outfits in the previous incarnations of the series and this one is certainly no exception. Her default outfit is a skin-tight red body suit that appears ninja appropriate (black might be a better choice!) and really does not reveal any skin but leaves little to the imagination anyway. The secondary outfit she has is primarily white but is more complicated than her simple single color outfit. A bit of skin is shown on the upper thighs above her boots, but aside from that it is very tasteful. It may be a bit too pretty to be fighting battles in, but other male and female characters have vastly flashier clothing or show much more skin.
The Look score takes a major hit because, while Taki has always been a rather fit and attractive individual her default outfit goes way too far in one respect. Her breasts (complete with very visible nipples) are extremely large and bounce around to the point you fear she is suffering tremendous back pain just by walking about. While this has always been a "feature" in the previous games, this was incredibly overdone this time and was obviously done this way just for something to draw the attention of young men.
Attitude (10/10): She acts like the same tough woman she always has been. She does not exhibit any actual fear in anything she decides to do or say in the game, and during battles you do not hear any stereotypical cries of terror or whines if she takes a few hits.
Intelligence (9/10): It is hard to judge intelligence in the game as it is a fighting game but the few blurbs of dialogue you get as well as her actions as described in the ending sequences show she is certainly not some blithering idiot. The only dumb thing she does in the game is wear an outfit that has absolutely no support of any kind.
Stance (10/10): As is common to all the characters in the game, her fighting style is appropriate to the weapons and martial arts Taki employs. She stands with one arm before her for defense and one arm raised to grab the blade strapped across her back in a quick attack.
Voice (7/10): Unlike in the previous games, Taki and all of the other characters speak in either English or Japanese depending on the game settings. In the previous games, Korean characters spoke Korean and Japanese characters spoke Japanese and added a nice authentic touch to the characters.
Scripts: (7/10): Many of the phrases that Taki says before or after battle can sometimes sound poorly translated or do not seem correct when in response to something another character says specifically to her (Other character, directed only to Taki:"I've had enough of you!" Taki: "Have you had enough of me?").
Marketing Efforts Towards Women ( 10/10): Despite the obvious sex-appeal role Taki has taken on in Soul Calibur 2, most paper and television advertisements don't portray her as a sexual object. They also don't go out of their way to portray the female characters as any more important than the males, instead giving more or less equal attention to all the characters. The focus has mostly been on advertising the fact that a long awaited sequel has finally arrived and that the X-box, Gamecube, and Playstation have different "guest" characters.
