1. What is the goal(s) of the Artemis Mod Team?
The goal of the Artemis team is to work together as a team to produce an awesome mod. We're focused on the coding, the gameplay, the mapping, the details, and the atmosphere of the mod, with the ultimate goal that the mod is fun to play, and fosters a spirit of friendly competition between players as they vie for the high score. The entire team is focused on our goal, and while we're not utterly oblivious to community opinion, addressing negative individual attitudes is less important to us at this point than delivering on our deadlines and producing a fun, kick-ass mod on release day!
2. Describe the Mythica Quake Mod
A fantastic city, forever hidden beneath eternal seas by Ancient Gods… now, after untold repetitions, you believe this tale of Atlantia - where danger and splendor walk hand in hand. You stand athwart the Gods of Olympus - Hera, Poseidon, Zeus, Apollo, and The Fates. Then comes the dream - Artemis beckons for your aid. Great treasures that were stolen from the halls of Olympus must be returned, and for the victor, a place in history - untold peril haunts your every footstep. You must find this Atlantia, and face your fate. A myth is your lifeline; the very Gods oppose you; the world you knew forever gone ... this, mortal, is MYTHICA.
MYTHICA places players in Ancient cities, pitted against the Gods of Olympus and other players in a quest for a Goddess's favor. Combining the thrill of traditional single-player levels with the excitement of online deathmatch, MYTHICA introduces completely new weapons, gorgeous levels, and an utterly unique style of gameplay.
3. When will the Mod be completed?
To quote our team leader - "it's done when it's done." A public beta release date may be announced in the near future, and if we do that, we'll certainly inform our sponsors and the news sites. The team would rather keep it a mystery at this point than announce it and keep pushing it back. That tends to leave a bad taste in people's mouths, especially after past "delayed releases" in industry. The Artemis Team would rather deliver in a big way on a surprise date with an announcement that we HAVE released than fail to deliver or deliver what we consider to be a less-than-finished product on a date that's been hyped for months.
