4. What is the rationale for keeping the Team predominantly female?
The Artemis team was founded by female gamers and developers with the idea that "we CAN do this!" - as an empowering experience for women in the gaming community, and for the gaming community as a whole. The team is still predominantly female, but has recently added a male coder in an effort to complete a fully-featured, kick-ass mod by our release date. Being all-female is less important to us than an awesome end product, and we've had to put our money where our mouth is on this one. We're hoping to encourage other women to take up mod development and coding, but we realized from the start that we were pulling from a narrowed pool of talent, and it was necessary to go outside that pool in this case to make sure that we delivered on our deadlines. The guy that we brought in is a close friend of the team, has had positive interactions with our team in the past, and is a great fit with the team personality-wise. These are things we'd have looked for regardless of gender, so when we didn't have a female applicant that fit our criteria in the time we'd allotted to bring in another coder, we went with what we as a team considered to be the best available choice.

5. What reaction from the gaming community has the Team received so far?
For the most part, the reaction has been positive, and that's a great feeling. We're here as gamers (and most of us happen to be women) to do something that hasn't been done before, and to those members of the community who've supported us, Thank You! You're part of the reason we're producing this mod, and we really hope you enjoy what you'll be seeing. Unfortunately, the response hasn't been ALL positive. There are still some individuals who think we're being intentionally sexist simply because our group has elected thus far to remain made up of what is a minority in the gaming community (never mind that we make up about half the world's population!). All-male mod teams are the norm. A mixed mod team is unusual, and one that's predominantly female was, until now, un-heard-of. For those people who are still hung up on "different is bad," the team has a message: Grow up.

6. What positions are currently open on the Team?
At this point, we're not looking to fill any specific positions, but those interested in working with the team can certainly send e-mail to supergirl@artemissoftware.com. As far as the team is concerned, we'd like to remain predominantly female in order to encourage and inspire women in the gaming and game development community to keep on doin' what they're doin', but all qualified applicants will be considered in terns of skills, attitude, and "fit" with the team as far as personality and style goes. Our most important goal, as we've said before, is delivering a kick-ass mod to the gaming community.
