WG: Have you experienced much resistance for running a controversial site or have visitors been generally understanding?

Fruit Brute: I have to say that overall, the response has been extremely positive. Especially from other game blogs and writers. The game journalism industry as a whole has been very kind to us. We do get the occasional person coming in and leaving nasty comments, but those are easily gotten rid of. I notice that most of the negative things people have to say stay on other sites or forums. Most of them are baseless statements that are inspired by fear of something that is different.

Our readers, though, have provided us with the most support and have always been very good about voicing positive opinions in comments and forums.

WG: Do you think the video game industry needs to change their products, marketing or services in some way to help the GLBT market? If so, how?

Fruit Brute: I don't necessarily feel like they NEED too so much as they should take it into consideration. The gay market is huge and it certainly couldn't hurt to target some advertising to it or at least advertise in places where gay gamers are likely to see their product. It certainly couldn't hurt!

WG: Finally, what message or advice would you like to give to GLBT gamers that may be reading this interview?

Fruit Brute: I guess I would just like them to know that they aren't the only ones out there. A lot of people don't have any other gay gaming friends and they should know that there is a whole community of gay gamers out there waiting to meet them, discuss similar interests and play games.

Thank you for spending the time to answer our questions. We wish you the very best of luck in your endeavors.
