6. Who are your favorite artists?
Rui Araizumi (Slayers) and CLAMP are my favorite artists. CLAMP is a group of five female artists whose manga's (comics and movies) are very famous in Japan. I have always thought that I would love to spend some time in their studios and learn their technique.
7. Are you into gaming? If so, what kind of games do you like to play?
Yes, I'm very interested in gaming. In fact, I currently own four different systems and am patiently waiting for the new Playstation system to arrive. My favorite types of games are RPGs. I'm more of a fan of the old, hand drawn RPGs of the past rather then the heavy realistic 3D they have now.
8. Are you interested in finding a career in the gaming industry?
Yes. I would like to work as an artist for a gaming company or a character designer. I had a chance to experience working for a gaming company this past summer when I worked for Random Games. I worked on the Backstreet Project which was promoted by Burger King this fall. With this experience, I also realized that I was able to change my art style from anime to whatever was needed. I really enjoyed working with the other artists.
9. What are your plans for the future?
I would like to attend the Savannah School of Art or go to the California Institute of Art and receive a degree in animation. I would also like to continue with my studies of the Japanese language with the hope that I could apply for an internship in Japan. Afterwards, on to a job and attempting to be an adult.
10. What advice would you give other young aspiring artists who are trying to get their art out there?
No matter how bad you might think you art is when you start out, if you stick with it and practice you can achieve your goals. Love, drive and ambition are the keys.
