Multiplayer:
The game has the option to play in multiplayer mode. You can play with friends that have the game in a cooperative or competitive variety of play. You can form a party yourself with friends and be a party leader, or you can join into an existing game that is going on by choosing to "Join Party." Some rare items can only be obtained when in multiplayer mode.
Marketing Efforts Towards Women:
The game has only one female playable character. Several of the NPC's that are part of the story are females and many of the guardian spirits are also female. The art work is cute and pretty. It isn't quite as stereotyped as many so called "girl games" but it is still there. The pretty mermaid shop owner, the water spirit, and the Luna spirit and the main character Tess all are very feminine and not very strong or athletic.
