Webzen America CEO Cindy Armstrong talks about attracting more women to gaming and careers in the gaming industry, her role as a successful woman in a male dominated field, and how this has affected her company. GameDaily has the story.
BIZ: You've worked at Activision, Nintendo, SOE and more. What have your experiences as a woman in a male dominated environment at these companies been like? What have you learned?
CA: SOE was a bit of an anomaly in that I was pretty much considered one of the guys. However, for the most part I'd venture to say men under-estimate me, feeling they know more about the business and are better negotiators. I use this to my advantage often - catching them by surprise. It is somewhat discouraging, though, as I am sometimes treated differently than my male counterparts.
