20th Century Fox has acquired feature rights to the popular life simulation computer game, The Sims. Variety has the story.
"'The SIMS has done an interactive version of an old story, which is what it's like to have infinite power and how do you deal with it," said [SIMS Studio head Rod] Humble. "Given that that's an old story, you can imagine how easily that would translate to traditional story telling."

It looks like they're making a live action film... seems like it's just milking the franchise to me. I honestly don't see how the Sims could be made into anything non-interactive that retains the same sort of characteristics of the game.
