In spite of (or perhaps because of) increased criticism, the ESA has decided to make its new annual report a public document. The report details many of the ESA's actions to serve the interests of the U.S. game industry. GameDaily has the story.

One key finding listed in the report shows the impressive contribution of the U.S. game industry to the economy as a whole. The industry's annual growth rate from 2003 to 2006 exceeded 17 percent, which easily outpaced the U.S. economy as a whole, which only grew at an average of two percent per year during this same period. And of course, now the U.S. economy is facing a recession while the U.S. game industry continues to flourish.
