New research from Frank N. Magid Associates reveals that the primary Wii gamer in a household is young males. However, the secondary Wii gamer in a household is a more evenly distributed over males and females. GameDaily has the story.
Approximately 15% of the households in our online survey of 12- to 64-year-olds (matched to the U.S. census) indicate they own a Wii and the overall satisfaction is quite high with the average consumer giving the Wii an 8.8 out of 10 possible points. Over 80% of the owners/players gave their Wii a score of 8-10 out of 10 points total.
Could it be that parents are still assuming that Wiis make a better gift for young boys than young girls? Is it a matter of access or preference?
