First Impressions:

I purchased the import of Legend of Dragoon a year before the U.S. version came out, and when I looked at the back, I thought to myself "Wow! What pretty screenshots!" Sadly, I never got around to playing it until a few months before the English version came out. Knowing what the Japanese game looked like, I was not disappointed with the English version because it was much better than some of the other 4-disk games….

Graphics:

Only one word will fit the description of the graphics, BEAUTIFUL! This game possesses some of the BEST magic spells and special effects I have yet to see in a game! Although, the dragons in the game don't really look like your normal dragons, do they…? One looks like a giant praying mantis!

Sound/Music:

The voices were decent in the game. If there was one thing I have to complain, the voices were hard to hear over the music in the FMVs. Other than that, none of the voices made me want to clinch my teeth. The music in the game was very good indeed and fit the scenes nicely! I'll certainly look into getting the soundtrack for this game!

Gameplay:

This game has a new type of battle system that I haven't seen in any other game. You have your standard 3-person on the battle screen mode, but in order to attack you have to time your movements just right to complete the special move or "addition." Some of the earlier moves, as would be expected, are very simple to time, but as you progress in the game the moves become very difficult to time. They are definitely worth it for attack power and the amount of SP you get back. This was a little annoying, but also it keeps the battle interesting!

Again, the game is four disks, and each disk is a different 'chapter' in the game, so this keeps your attention from breaking and helps to focus on the story line without getting lost.

Enjoyment:

I find this game very, VERY enjoyable! The story is captivating and interesting; the graphics and spells were wonderful to look at and make you want to learn the next one faster and faster. Also the love story between the characters was so touching and cute!

Multiplayer:

Sometimes in the game you will switch over to one of the other characters. This happens maybe four times in the entire game.

Overall Impression:

A game I would HIGHLY suggest buying! Go now! It goes to show that a game actually can be four disks and be GOOD…The story line keeps you guessing, and again I'll say that the graphics are so cool! ^-^

Marketing Efforts Towards Women:

Humm…This game was probably made for a general audience.

PROS: Simply put, the game as WONDERFUL!

CONS: It's hard to hear the voices over the music at times.
