Yup, you guessed it, another golf game. Simon and Schuster Interactive
has come up with the first game in what will be a series of
"Amateur League" titles. Amateur League Golf, from the creators
of "Deer Avenger," will be available in October 2000. The game
should be a good stress reliever for all those golfers who just
cannot handle the pressure of the putt.

Amateur
League Golf offers two courses of play, each with its own special
appeal. One course you can choose is the public Newark course.
The course, located beside the Jersey Turnpike and across from
the Newark Airport, consists of many obstacles, even oil tanks.
The other course is the private Mosquito Greens (the name just
sounds like itch city) located in Okeechobee, Florida. There
you will have to guide your ball through alligator swamps and
trailer parks. Sounds like fun, right?
If
the courses don't scare you, the characters in the game probably
will. There are eight chacters you can play. Some of the characters
from which you can choose are Satan, whose clubs double as fire
spewing tridents, Dr. Butz, the surgeon with a blood stained
gown, Angus the Scotsman, with his lovely kilt, and excited
Golfman.
Amateur
League Golf's gameplay is like other golf games. You can choose
your club, direction in which to swing, strength and accuracy.
You also have the option of playing other humans or against
other characters in a tournament. However, the one thing that
differs in Amateur League Golf from other golf games is that
you can beat up your arrogant caddie whenever he makes you mad.
Still, you have to be careful not to beat him up too early in
the round, or he might just leave you out on the course crying
for advice. And believe me, you might just need all the help
you can get when you begin to hit balls at other golfers or
at things like bee hives, police cars, wild animals and gangsters
burying dead bodies.
So
get ready, boys and girls, to drive that ball home and clean
your opponent's clock in Amateur League Golf by Simon and Schuster
Interactive.
